St. Columbkilles
0-15 Christophers 2-8
It was Donaghmore to the fore as Paddy McKenna scored the winning point
with the last kick of the game to win the game for St. Columbkilles
and put them into an all Brighton semi-final against
St. Columbkilles started well and went up by a five points to
no score lead early. Jonathan Daniels
and Eugene Greaney put the ball over the bar for St.
Cols. Paul Cronin played well at wing

Christopher’s
started the second half strong and leveled the scored with two early
points. Then a goal came from Steven
Curley, who ran 45 yards before burying the ball and giving Colin Murphy no
chance at making a save. Murphy had
earlier denied Christophers two golden chances with
magnificent saves. St. Cols too had
their chances as Jonathan Daniels, Mick Lyons, and Ryan Bradley all came close
to finding the goal. With Christophers leading by three points things looked bleak
for St. Cols, but some changes brought them back into it. Kieran Flaherty was introduced to the middle
of the field and scored a wonderful point as well as linking up well with his
back line. St. Cols went ahead by two
points but Christopher’s leveled the scores in the dying minutes with two Mark
O’Sullivan free kicks. With seconds on
the clock Paddy McKenna won the ball and popped it over the bar from 30 yards
to send his side into next weeks’ semi finals against
